This site offers information about clinical trials: understanding them, finding them, researchers, and life beyond clinical trials. In a special section for Breast Cancer Trials is specific information regarding treatment, prevention, diagnosis, and risk assessment.

Mesothelioma Web
For those diagnosed with mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer of the lining of the lung (pleura) or the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum), finding a credible source of information about the disease itself and the medical options available, is of the highest priority. After years of research and synthesis of information, we have assembled a web site and packet for patients and their loved ones.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (a not-for-profit alliance of 20 of the worlds leading cancer centers) is dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of care provided to patients with cancer. Through the leadership and expertise of clinical professionals at NCCN member institutions, NCCN develops resources that present valuable information to the numerous stakeholders in the health care delivery system. The primary goal of all NCCN initiatives is to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of oncology practice so patients can live better lives.

PDQ - NCI's Comprehensive Cancer Database
National Cancer Institutes comprehensive cancer database, contains peer-reviewed summaries on cancer treatment, screening, prevention, genetics, and supportive care; a registry of approximately 1,800 open and 10,300 closed cancer clinical trials from around the world; and directories of physicians, professionals who provide genetics services, and organizations that provide cancer care. Lists the standard treatments for cancer and updates them monthly.

Plastic Surgery Information Service
The American Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons and Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation have an excellent and extensive section for information and resources on breast reconstruction.

National Lymphedema Network (NLN)
Provides education and guidance and support to lymphedema patients, healthcare professionals and the general public, including a quarterly newsletter, a place to find penpals/netpals, and educational courses for patients and health care professionals.

American Institute for Cancer Research
This site focuses on cancer prevention and reducing cancer risk through diet. Find suggestions for food, recipes and diet, with accompanying books and articles, also press updates and brochures on pesticide residues on fruits and vegetables.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation
This site informs a visitor that you do not have to have a lump to have breast cancer. Inflammatory Breast Cancer grows in nests or sheets rather than a solid tumor. The website provides detailed descriptions of Inflammatory Breast Cancer and its symptoms, including colored photographs, a 4 minute video, and patients writings about this little known and aggressive form of breast cancer.
