    Theresa

    Recurrence and Metastasis

"Having had cancer is the best thing that happened. It sounds strange I guess and sometimes when I go to the support group and I say that in front of someone that was just diagnosed they think that Iím crazy but I think itís the best thing that happened to me because it made be realize that life is not just going to work, sitting in front of a computer, coming back home, doing things for other people, being involved in the community. I used to be involved in the community. I used to be doing a lot of community work, a lot of church work but I wasnít taking care of myself so thatís why I think itís the best thing that happened to me because now I realize that Iím a person, that I have to take care of myself."
